The Compost Education Centre operates two community allotment gardens in Fernwood to strengthen relationships and provide community members with growing space.

The Compost Education Centre operates two community allotment gardens in Fernwood: The Earthbound Community Allotment Garden and the Fernwood Community Garden on Chambers Street. See below for ways you can grow with us.

Earthbound Community Allotment Garden

This community garden is in the Oaklands neighborhood of Victoria. There you will find 31 garden allotments and composting systems.

Fernwood Community Garden

This community garden is in the Fernwood neighborhood of Victoria on the same site as the CEC teaching gardens. There you’ll find 31 garden allotments, fruit and nut trees, composting systems, and communal flower beds.

In order to be eligible for an allotment garden, you cannot have access to existing gardening space, such as another allotment garden, use of a dedicated space in your yard for a vegetable garden, or permission and use of someone else’s yard for gardening purposes.
