Our demonstration gardens are nestled beside the Fernwood Community Association’s allotment gardens in the Fernwood neighborhood of Victoria, BC.  Throughout spring and summer the site is alive with hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. It’s an oasis in the middle of the city.

Our knowledgeable staff are available to assist you in the office with purchasing a composter and relevant accessories, or in answering any of your gardening queries.

The garden is open for the public to walk through Wednesday – Saturday, from 10am-4pm. Guided Sustainable Systems Site tours are available by appointment.

Accessibility info: The Compost Education Centre site has paths made of wood chips. Mobility devices with wheels (such as wheelchairs, walkers etc.) are sometimes difficult to use on site. The strawbale learning classroom is accessed via a wooden ramp, and has a wide double door and a ramp leading up to it. Once inside everything is flat. There is a single-stall gender neutral washroom on site. The washroom is not wheelchair accessible and has a small step up from the woodchip pathway, and another small step up from the washroom boardwalk. There are four steps into our retail space, once inside everything is flat.
